ORA-12519: TNS:no appropriate service handler

Hi Forums,

After installation process and new database creation successfully finished. While I starting database, after some times, I got following error on my Oracle Enterprise Manager web console.

ORA-12519: TNS:no appropriate service handler found (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach)

All sessions stopped to working and we are not able to get new connection of database. Oracle Enterprise Manager web console provided that database instance up and running. What is the reason and how to resolve this issue.

What is the version of Oracle and operating system?

Hi,

It is Oracle 10.2.0.1 on Windows 2003.

Hi Shikha,

Increase your processes parameter from default value 150 to 400. It will resolve ORA-12519 :TNS: no appropriate service handler error. Kindly ensure the database should need to bounce for taking effect of PROCESSES parameter. Check alert.log, it would be having ORA-00020: maximum number of processes reached error too.
